Even Small Rabbits Get Scared In The Dark
Posted by on September 28, 2005 11:17 PM
For those following my morale dilemma of should I go out or not whilst my wife was away , I decided to stay at home like a good boy. I had plenty to do with Merseymusic anyway , empty my inbox and review demo's. I did receive an email from a band asking advice on naming a new band - Hints & Tips. Even Small Rabbits Get Scared In The Dark has to be the most bizarre band name I have heard recently. Even the drummer donned a pair of bunny ears which had flashing LED'S around the perimiter.Choosing a band name is never easy when you have to do it. For instance think of 5 band names now , easy , you would probably reel them off. However when its comes to naming a real new band its very tricky , you have to think of the implications of the name and what image it can give to anyone hearing it for the first time. You could mix up the names of the band members or go for something totally off the wall , it can be a minefield. In the coming weeks I have planned to visit the newest venue in Liverpool which is called Las Vegas. If you are of a slightly older age you will remember the arcade by Lime Street station called Las Vegas , well this has now been turned into a music venue and by all accounts is very good. Its currently 11.30pm and I have been up since 6:15am so I am heading to the sack for some beauty sleep - take care

Small Bottles Of Stella
Posted by on September 23, 2005 11:00 PM
Small bottles of Stella.Why.What is their purpose in life. I can imagine the marketing meeting. All of the Stella execs around a table banging out ideas on the next way forward and some bright spark comes up with gulp size Stella bottles. Anyway my other half is now away in the fair city of Dublin and I have had my first full day of playing mum and I am knackered. I have had several drunken texts from her mostly mispelt and making no sense at all , meaning she has hit the bar early doors which is fair play in my book! Although it is Friday night and I am sitting in front of my pc with gulp size bottles of Stella and I think the old couple next door are having their annual sex there is a chink of light in my weekend. I received a phone call today from my mother who really wants to mind the kids over the weekend and has even suggested that I go out for a beer whilst she does this. So I am in a morale dilemma. Should I hand over the kids for a night and check out bands in the city or refuse the offer and watch Cagney and Lacey (which ones which) on UK Gold. We shall see , A decision will be made tomorrow , in the meantime I have a pile of dishes to do , A nappy to bin and macaroni cheese to remove from my hair - catch you later

Welcome to my world ...

So I have been given a piece of cyberspace to give you an insight into my world, what is this madness. Do they know what they are doing!
I co run Merseymusic with Jason Powell and we do our best to give Liverpool bands a platform to get noticed , a helping hand , a fairy god mother, Well more of a hairy god mother.
In my blog ( who named it a blog and why) I will be penning goings on in the music scene in Liverpool which at present is quite vibrant but could be better with some support from the powers that be and also stories from the MM office and my life in general , lucky you !
